What to do when you get stuck in a snow storm.

Our Trip to Iceland had us stranded in Reykjavik because of a snows storm. We planned to go and see all the wonders that Iceland has to offer but every trip was cancelled.

This is a guide on what to do in Reykjavik when Iceland craps on you.... and that is drink a whole lot of alcohol and mix it up with the locals!

Note: keflavik airport is a pretty relaxed place. Joe and The Juice serves great coffee ( £4.00 for a large coffee) and really healthy Fresh Fruit Smoothies. Loksins Bar is really reasonably prices. We had a pint of Lager for around 700Kr. Their Duty Free is not too bad either with the alcohol and cigarette well prices. (200 Marlboro Iceblast £44) #keflaviktobacco #icelandprices

Reykjavík has an excellent bus system with regular services to and from all the city’s major towns and attractions. Buses into the city cost 450 Kr (this is a standard cost where ever you go)

When it comes to drinking, stick to happy hour as the beers are half the normal price (we payed between 700 Kr & 800 Kr) Reykjavik is a beautiful little city that has so much to offer. It is definitely worth the wonder around.

Our biggest bit of advice is to buy yourself a bottle (or two) of Vodka or what ever spirit you like, at the airport. We flew in from Manchester so we picked up a bottle of Finlandia Vodka for around £14. This saw us through our stay and it kept the cost down.

Supermarkets are dotted around the city. Bonus and Kronan are the cheaper store. We liked Hagkaup as it had a big selection of things to choose from and they sold hotdogs, which as an added bonus.
