How to get married in an epic way. #reykjavikwedding

Just Married
We got married in Reykjavik

Well, it is official. We are now Mr & Mrs. Getting #married was something we have been planning for a while now. We do not do things the way most people do and we wanted our wedding to be different and personal to ourselves. In February 2018 we visited Iceland for the first time and fell in love with her instantly, despite the fact that we were caught in a terrible snow storm and had no where to go but walk the streets of #Reykjavik. This allowed us to meet some amazing people and get to know the ways of the Icelandic culture.

Fast foward a few months and we had booked up to go back in October. We wanted to get married so we though, why not do it in #Iceland?!

It was the most amazing time of our lives and we had the privilege to share this with our dear parents who came with to make it extra special and an adventure that we will keep in our hearts forever!

So why get married in Reykjavik? The answer is simple. We wanted to have an intimate and private marriage somewhere that we both love. Iceland has got to be one of our most favourite places to be, plus it is one of the most easiest places to get married.

The fee is 7.700 IKR  (ceremony in the office) and can be paid (1st floor) upon arrival (cash only) in Iceland. We found that it was easier to go before the wedding so it is all sorted out and you have nothing else to worry about.

You can book a date for the ceremony via e-mail and they require to receive your documents 3 weeks prior to the date. The days that you can get married at the office are Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at 14:00, 14:20, 14:40 and 15:00 O´Clock.

For ceremonies outside the office the fee varies, but the starting fee is approx. 47.700 ISK, and then an hourly rate after that.

SO what is required?

Firstly you need to Give notice at your local register office. After 28 days you receive your certificate, after this email scanned copies of all your documentation to gifting@syslumenn.is
